A Truth-Driven Look At Church Music

O Brother Where Art Thou?

I’ve even started to wonder where I was….Whew! My family and I have finally gotten everything out of our old house and into the new, so I guess that means that we’ve officially “moved in”. That doesn’t mean that we know where anything is! We’ve still got lots to do; we’ve got lots of boxes to unpack. This was our third move in a little over two years. My best friend in the whole world has done this over twenty times in the last thirty years! I can’t imagine! I hope that this is our last move for a while, but working for the Lord has little predictability…. J

I hope to get back into the “blogging” swing of things this week.

Let me say in the rest of this entry how pleased I was with our Children’s Drama last Sunday night! Anita Hall and the team did a fantastic job of preparing the nearly 100 children involved. The faithful preaching of God’s word by Bro. Jeff was so reflected in the adjustments made by Melanie Winsett and all those who designed the entire presentation. It made my job very easy.

The one thing that I hope was evident was the scripture saturation of the program. Regardless of the theme or the songs (which are carefully scrutinized), we can never go wrong by quoting countless verses throughout the drama lines and added in between scenes and songs. I was tremendously challenged and encouraged as an audience member.

Our choir and orchestra start back tomorrow night. I can’t wait! We also kick off our annual Promotion for three weeks. I hope that we have lots of prospects come check things out!
